AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team opens a two-game road trip tomorrow evening with an Atlantic 10 matchup at VCU. The Minutemen and the Rams tip-off at 7 p.m. on the NBC Sports App.

Last Time Out
UMass picked up a 75-65 win over Rhode Island on Saturday behind a career-high 22 points from Matt Cross while Dyondre Dominguez finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. The Minutemen converted on 23-of-30 shots from the free throw line in the win and out-rebounded the Rams 48-36 on the game.

Bench Boost
The Minutemen rank seventh nationally and lead the Atlantic 10 in bench points per game at 33.0. Dyondre Dominguez leads the bench scoring attack with 9.2 points per game while RJ Luis adds 9.0 per contest off the bench. The UMass bench has outscored opponents in 14-of-17 games and has been outscored just one time this season.

Crashing The Boards
UMass averages just over 13 offensive rebounds per game to rank 19th nationally and second in the A-10 in the category. Matt Cross leads the Minutemen in rebounds with 6.4 per game and has hauled in 2.4 offensive rebounds per contest this season. UMass has five players averaging 4.0 or more boards per game.

Cross' Career-High
Matt Cross reached double figures in scoring in both games last week and has reached the mark in six of the last nine games for the Minutemen. The junior scored 17.5 points to go along with 7.5 rebounds per game last week while shooting 63-percent from 3-point range. Cross set a new career-high mark in scoring with 22 points while adding seven rebounds in Saturday's win over Rhode Island.

Sharpshooting
Dyondre Dominguez ranks fifth among A-10 leaders in field goal percentage at .575 and is second among league leaders with 100 or more field goal attempts. T.J. Weeks Jr. is fifth in the league in 3-point percentage at .444 and ranks third among leaders who have attempted 50 or more shots from deep.

Key's Career Day
Freshman Keon Thompson set new career-best marks in rebounds and assists in Saturday's win over Rhode Island. With Noah Fernandes out, Thompson hauled in a career-high seven rebounds and dished out a career-best five assists to go along with nine points in nearly 31 minutes of action.

Approaching 300
Head coach Frank Martin is one win away from reaching 300 for his collegiate career and holds a 299-207 (.591) mark in 16 seasons. Martin won 171 games in 10 seasons at South Carolina and picked up 117 wins in five seasons at Kansas State.

Kante Among Active Leaders
Isaac Kante ranks 33rd among active DI leaders in career rebounds with 791 and holds the 36th most career double-doubles with 21. Kante also holds a .583 field goal percentage for his collegiate career to rank 39th-best among active leaders.

Looking Ahead
The Minutemen conclude their two-game road trip on Saturday at Saint Joseph's with a 1 p.m. tip-off. UMass returns home to the Mullins Center for three of its next four contests beginning with Richmond on Wednesday, Jan. 25 before hosting Duquesne on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m.
