April 02, 2022 | Rowing
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Massachusetts rowing program concluded the Murphy Cup, seeing three points pick up medals. The Varsity 8, JV8, and Varsity 4 all went to the podium on Saturday afternoon.
The V8 took third with a season best time (6:30.26), JV8 took third place with a time of 6:57.25, and the 3V8 boat took third (7:30.46). The Mintuewomen took second in the 2V4 race, and fifth in the A4 final.
From Head Coach Eric Carcich
''Big thanks to the coaching staff at temple for hosting the Murphy cup regatta. This weekend provided an opportunity to line up against three more a-10 opponents, along with eleven other schools from various conferences along the east coast. Three of our five boats medaled, including the varsity 8, jv 8, and vb4, and overall we were really proud of the way they fought in high quality, fast conditions on the schuylkill river. It was a excellent step today, and we are building. Can't wait to get back to work on Monday."
