Kirry Highlights UMass Track & Field’s Final Day At Raleigh Relays

The sophomore improved upon her No. 2 all-time 400 meter hurdles mark in the program’s record book.
RALEIGH, N.C. – University of Massachusetts track and field closed out its weekend at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday, highlighted by Lillian Kirry's performance in 400 meter hurdles. In total seven individuals were in action for the Minutewomen and Minutemen, plus two women's relay squads.
Kirry claimed third in 400 meter hurdles, running 1 minute, 3.6 seconds to third in the event and improving her No. 2 all-time UMass mark.
In hammer throw, Voski Armenakyan placed 33rd with a toss of 165 feet, 3 inches and Danielle Notarfrancesco was 48th (144'5"). Emily McDonald claimed 25th in long jump (17'9.5") and Kira Kopec followed in 28th (17'9").
In the 800 meter run, Shane Grant took 96th on the men's side, clocking in at 1 minute, 54.81 seconds, while Samantha Schwers was 112th in the women's race, posting a time of 2 minutes, 18.86 seconds.
The Minutewomen had two relays in action as the 4x400 meter squad combined for an 11th-place time of 3:50.89 and the 4x100 meter relay team placed 16th in 48.89 seconds.
UMass will be back in action next Sunday, April 3, with the team's first home meet of the year, squaring off against Holy Cross, Hartford, Merrimack, Northeastern and Amherst College.
