Tennis Sets For Saturday Night Match At Bryant

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis team heads to Greenville, Rhode Island, to match up with Bryant University at Rally Point. The match is set to begin at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
 
LAST TIME OUT
UMass dropped a 6-1 contest at Yale last Sunday afternoon. Thamonpan Jonglertrakul was the lone Minutewomen with a singles point on the day.
 
Yale quickly took the doubles point, as the Bulldogs picked up victories on courts No. 3 and No. 2. In singles competition, UMass fell at No. 4, No. 3 and No. 6, before Jonglertrakul defeated her opponent, Vivian Cheng of Yale, 6-2, 2-6 (10-6), at court No. 5. The Bulldogs went on to win at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to earn the 6-1 triumph.
 
SCOUTING BRYANT
The Bulldogs enter Saturday with a 5-2 overall record and are coming off both a 4-3 victory on the road at Fairfield on Sunday, March 6.
 
UMass and Bryant have met three times in as many seasons, with the Minutewomen holding a 3-0 record overall. The last meeting between Massachusetts and Bryant was on Feb. 1, 2020, when the Minutewomen won 6-1 over the Bulldogs.
 
THREE -- COUNT 'EM THREE
Farima has garnered the A-10 Rookie of the Week accolade three times in her career. The freshman went 4-0, going 2-0 in both doubles and singles play, to receive the honor on February 8, before collecting the award again on February 15, after posting a 2-0 record in singles play. The Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, native, tabbed the honor on March 1, after going 4-0 overall on the weekend in the Minutewomen's sweeps of both Seton Hall and Holy Cross. The freshman is 7-1 in singles play, so far, this season, and 6-1 also in doubles competition, going 4-1 with partner Anna Napadiy and 2-0 with Cannon.
