Massachusetts Tennis Takes Down Bryant, 4-1

The Minutewomen cruise to seventh victory of the spring season.
GREENVILLE, R.I. – University of Massachusetts tennis got back in the win column, defeating Bryant University, 4-1, on Saturday night at Rally Point. The Minutewomen improve to 7-3 overall on the season.
UMass notched the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Renata Farima and Vitoria Okuyama got off to a quick start, downing Ada Boru and Leanne Kendall of Bryant, 6-2, before the Bulldogs tied it up at No. 3. Duo Thamonpan Jonglertrakul and Mariya Krasakova defeated Bryant's Camila Baeza and Manuela Gomez Estrada, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 2, to secure the point for the Minutewomen.
In singles competition, Bryant grabbed the first point due to Polina Akimova retiring from play on court No. 3. Jonglertrakul took down Caitlyn Munson of Bryant, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4, to bring Massachusetts back into a 2-1 lead. UMass extended its lead to 3-1 after Farima picked up a point at No. 1, winning 6-0, 6-4 over Bryant's Boru. Danielle Hack clinched the match for the Minutewomen, taking down Sarah Hickey of Bryant, 6-1, 6-0, on No. 2.
Courts No. 5 and No. 6 came to halt, as Krasakova and Okuyama both led in their respective matches.
Massachusetts travels to Charleston, South Carolina, for two Atlantic 10 matches. The Minutewomen will take on Dayton on Friday, March 18, at 1 p.m., before playing Davidson on Saturday, March 19. Sunday's match time will be determined at a later date.
