Minutemen Record Second Straight Home Clean Sheet, Draw With Saint Joseph’s

Matt Zambetti posted his third individual clean sheet of the year after finishing with four saves.
AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team recorded its second straight home clean sheet with a 0-0 draw against Saint Joseph's on Saturday afternoon at Rudd Field. The draw helped the Minutemen (6-0-6 Overall, 1-0-4 Atlantic 10) remain unbeaten through their first 12 contests.
Matt Zambetti finished with four saves in goal for the Minutemen to record his third individual clean sheet of the season. Two of Zambetti's saves came in the final 45 minutes, including a one-handed stop in the 57th-minute to preserve the shutout.
UMass finished with a 14 to 10 shot advantage while putting six of its shots on frame as the Minutemen attempted 10 during the final 45 minutes. Nick Zielonka attempted a team-high five shots, including a pair of opportunities in the final two minutes of play. Zielonka had a shot blocked early in the 89th-minute before putting one on target shortly after that was saved by Saint Joseph's Luis Ludosan.
Forward Shizu Yohena put both of his shot attempts on target while Evan Fournier, Andrew Ortiz and Brad Moccio each added shots on frame.
The Minutemen return to action on Tuesday with a 2 p.m. kickoff at No. 15-ranked Vermont. UMass returns home to Rudd Field on Saturday, Oct. 15 for a matchup against St. Bonaventure at noon.
