Two program top-five all-time marks were set by Minutewomen on Saturday.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's track and field won 14 of 18 events to win a tri-meet vs. UMass Lowell and Northeastern on Saturday at the UMass track & field complex. The Minutewomen set two top-five all-time marks and posted a score of 174.5 points, followed by Northeastern (75) and UMass Lowell (54.50).
Lily Robinson posted the fourth-fastest time in program history to win the 10K, clocking in at 37:18.75, while Lauren Perkowski ran 37 minutes, 30.77 on her heels in second. Cheyenne Figueroa took first in hammer with a mark of 180 feet, 6 inches, the No. 2 all-time mark in the UMass record book, Voski Armenakyan was second (165'10") and Danielle Notarfrancesco claimed third (158'10").
Jada Harris won three events on the day. She paced the field in 100 meter hurdles at 14.27 seconds, followed by Kira Kopec (15.12) and Elizabeth Lee (16.26). Harris cleared the winning height of 5 feet, 5.25 inches in high jump and freshman Lea Doerries was second (5'3.25"). In long jump, Harris posted the top performance of the day, 19 feet, 2.5 inches, and Danielle Reicherts took second (17'11.75").
Abby Collins ran 12.51 seconds to first in 100 meter dash, while Maeve Swanton took third in 12.91 seconds. Collins also won the 200 meter dash (25.91), followed by Kopec in second (26.01) and Caroline Schissel in third (26.18).
Freshman Tessa Bostwick collected first in 400 meter dash in 1 minute 1.40 seconds, while Sarah Witt was second (1:01.89). Caroline Clark was first to cross the finish line in the 1,500 meter run, clocking in at 4 minutes, 38.33 seconds and Sarah Conant was fourth (4:42.35). Freshman Lillian Kirry placed first in 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 2.47 seconds and Samantha Schwers raced to the runner-up spot in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 21.61 seconds.
Sophia Casciano won pole vault, clearing a height of 10 feet, 11.75 inches and Emily McDonald leapt 37 feet, 9.25 inches to claim the top mark in triple jump, while Anna Cozzolino was victorious in javelin with a throw of 116 feet. Courtney Danielsen was third in javelin with a 110-feet, 1-inch performance.
Danielle Notarfrancesco threw 45 feet, 4.25 inches for third in shot put and Gabriella Pagnini was second in discus with a mark of 120 feet, 10 inches, followed by Kelly Alves (118'10").
In the 4x100 meter relay, UMass' team of Harris, Reicherts, Schissel and Collins ran the top time of 48.44 seconds.
The Minutewomen will return to action next Friday, April 9, when the squad will host Boston College, Boston University and Quinnipiac at the UMass Track & Field Complex with the meet scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
