Cuthbert Leads Menโs Track And Field At Dartmouth Indoor Invitational

The senior won the 200m dash and was fifth in 60m as the Minutemenโs top point scorer at the meet.
HANOVER, N.H. โ Senior Michael Cuthbert was the top point scorer for the University of Massachusetts men's track and field team, which was in action at Dartmouth on Saturday. The Minutemen were fifth in the five-team field with 70 points, while the host Big Green won the meet with a score of 186.

Cuthbert was the lone event winner on the day for UMass, placing first in the 200 meter dash at 22.07 seconds. He also provided points in the 60 meter, taking fifth at 7.04 behind teammate Jordan Howard (4th, 7.01).

The Minutemen had four more individuals score on the track as freshman Peter Ryan was fourth in 500m (1:09.27), senior Dawson Bathgate was fifth in the 3,000m (8:41.11), sophomore Matthew Tarantino was sixth in 60m hurdles (9.25) and senior Jack Adamski was eighth in the mile (4:25.54).

UMass claimed three of the top-five spots in long jump with Myles McDermott leading the way in second with a leap of 22 feet, 9 inches. Senior Noah Kortkamp followed in third (22'5.25") and freshman Tyler Glendon took fifth (21'6.25").

Freshman Allan Bellevue and Tarantino both cleared 6 feet, 0.75 inches in high jump, claiming second and third, respectively. In pole vault, senior Mason Lord was second with a height of 14 feet, 1.25 inches and sophomore Jack Perry landed fourth at 13 feet, 7.25 inches.

Samuel Darkwa, Jr. placed fourth in triple jump (40'11.75") and freshman Bradley Harunkiewicz scored in both weight throw (seventh, 45'4.5") and shot put (sixth, 45'6.5").

UMass will be back in action next Saturday, February 15, when the squad will head to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, which is slated for a 10:30 a.m. start.
