Men's Track & Field Competes At Unscored Sorlien Invitational

Kortkamp and Engstrom post top-eight finishes in two events apiece.
KINGSTON, R.I. – University of Massachusetts men's track and field was in action at the Sorlien Invitational on Saturday at Rhode Island's Mackal Fieldhouse. Seniors Noah Kortkamp and Erik Engstrom both posted a pair of top-eight finishes in their respective events at the unscored meet.
Kortkamp claimed third in 60 meter hurdles at 8.38 seconds and also collected a seventh-place finish in long jump (22'5.25"), while senior Myles McDermott was eighth (22'3").
Engstrom ran 4 minutes, 24.04 seconds to fifth in mile and captured seventh in the 3,000 meter run (8:53.46), followed by senior Dawson Bathgate in eighth (8:55.19).
Sophomore Lucas Honohan placed third in the 500 meter with a time of 1 minute, 7.37 seconds and Colin Stoddard landed fifth in 1 minute, 7.83 seconds.
Senior Michael Cuthbert took fourth in 200 meter with a time of 22.82 seconds. Freshman Christopher Matthews and senior Connor Ross both placed sixth in their events, the 400m (52.08) and 800m (1:58.45), respectively.
Freshman Bradley Harunkiewicz threw 46 feet, 9.50 inches to take sixth in shot put and freshman Allan Bellevue earned seventh in high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 1.25 inches.
The Minutemen will be back in action next Saturday, January 25, when the team heads to Boston University for the John Thomas Terrier Invitational, beginning at 1 p.m.
