Minutemen Return To Action Tomorrow Against Bryant

Returning to the Pool
UMass returns to the pool for the first time since the Terrier Invitational back on Nov. 22-24 tomorrow afternoon to take on Bryant. The divers will open up the day by hosting the Bulldogs in the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. while the swimmers will begin action in Smithfield, R.I. at noon. The Minutemen are a perfect 6-0 in the series against Bryant dating back to the first meeting between the two programs in 2012. UMass recorded a 188-112 home win in the most recent meeting a year ago behind 11 first-place finishes and nine runner-up efforts on Senior Day.
Last Time Out
The Minutemen finished third at the Terrier Invitational and opened up the three-day meet in Boston by recording a pair of top-five individual finishes behind Ryan Pedrick's fifth-place showing in the 50 Free and Jamie MacDonald's fifth-place showing in the 200 IM. MacDonald went on to clock the fifth-fastest time in program history with a runner-up finish in the 200 Fly on the final day while fellow freshman Noah Witt took fourth in the 200 Back. Al Madden grabbed a win on day two in the 100 Breast with a time of 55.28 after the Minutemen opened the day by winning the 200 Medley Relay.
Championships On the Horizon
The schedule rolls on for the Minutemen as they head to Hanover, N.H. for the final road meet of the season on Jan. 24-25 at the Dartmouth Invitational. The regular season wraps up on Feb. 1 with Senior Day against Fordham at 1 p.m. before a two-plus week break prior to the Atlantic 10 Championships in Geneva, Ohio on Feb. 19-22.
