Minutewomen conclude season-opening weekend Sunday at No. 12 Louisville
COLUMBUS, Ohio ā University of Massachusetts field hockey was defeated at No. 14 Ohio State, 7-0, on Friday at Buckeye Varsity Field. The Minutewomen (0-1) return to the pitch on Sun., Sept. 1 with a noon contest at No. 12 Louisville on the ACC Network Extra.

The Buckeyes grabbed the lead in the 12th minute via a Esther Clotet Alsina penalty stroke, stretching the advantage to 3-0 by halftime. Clotet Alsina had a three-point second half by way of an assist (47th minute) and her second goal (50th minute).

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Megan Davies registered eight saves over the first three quarters of action before freshman Kaitlin Broda relieved Davies for the final stanza and made one stop. UMass managed three shots on-cage at the other end, but all were turned aside by Buckeyes goalkeeper Aaliyah Hernandez.
