Gordon And Ransford Tabbed Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference

Casey Ransford broke his own program-record in the 200 Fly on his way to a fourth-place finish.
AMHERST, Mass. – Luther Gordon and Casey Ransford of the University of Massachusetts Men's Swimming and Diving team were selected to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team as announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.

Gordon (Clifton Park, N.Y.) earned the academic all-conference selection for his second straight year after joining the Minutemen in 2017-18. The junior posted a top-10 finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships in the 100 Breaststroke while setting the ninth-fastest time in UMass program history in the 200 Breaststroke. On the year, Gordon won the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke three times each while garnering 14 combined top-three finishes in both races.

Ransford (Pittsford, N.Y.) was named to the all-academic team as he set a new program record time of 1:48.17 in the 200 Butterfly preliminaries at the league championships on his way to finishing fourth. The sophomore added another top-10 finish in the 100 Butterfly with the fifth-fastest time in UMass program history. On the year, Ransford claimed six top-three finishes in the 200 Fly and five top-three showings in the 100 Fly.
