Snyder Takes Third In 1650 Free As Minutewomen Wrap Up At Terrier Invitational

Bella Snyder finished third in the 1650 Free while Katie Mitchell took fourth in the 200 Fly.
BOSTON, Mass. – Bella Snyder posted a top-three finish in the 1650 Free while Katie Mitchell took fourth in 200 Fly as the University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the three-day Terrier Invitational on Sunday evening.
The freshman duo also set a pair of top-10 program times on the night as Snyder clocked in the fourth-fastest time in program history with a swim of 17:04.84 in the 1650 Free finals. Olga Egkorova added a top-five finish in the race with a time of 17:12.63.
Mitchell's time of 2:05.04 in the 200 Fly marked the fifth-fastest time in program history after recording the seventh-fastest mark in the prelims earlier in the day. The Minutewomen finished with five in the top-19, led by Mitchell and Summer Pierce in 12th.
UMass capped off the meet with a sixth-place showing in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:29.06 put together by Paige Mitchell, Kelsey Cordery, Kirsten Ardis and Emily Rudiman. Ardis opened her evening by leading all Minutewomen in the 200 Back in 12th while Rudiman finished 12th in the 100 Free with a time of 52.03. Jane Denenberg set another top-10 program mark for UMass in the 200 Back, clocking in the ninth-fastest with a time of 2:06.00 in the morning prelims.
The Minutewomen return to the pool on Jan. 17 at Bryant while the divers will be back in action before the break on Dec. 6-8 at the Bucknell Invite in Lewisburg, Pa.
