Alumnae Weekend Scheduled for September 29-30
All former Minutewomen, their families and friends of UMass field hockey are invited to reconnect in Amherst on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29-30. A host of events, including a halftime recognition against Providence (Sept. 30) are on the docket for all in attendance. Stat of the Week
Fans should look forward to the goalkeeping matchup on Friday as both UMass' Johanna von dem Borne (7.70) and Davidson's Sarah Zeszotarski (7.86) rank in the top 10 nationally in saves per game as well as the top two in the Atlantic 10. Among freshmen across the country, von dem Borne is second in the category only to Betty Bosma (7.82) of Hofstra.
Goals Are Always Fun In Pairs
Junior forward Antonet Louw currently leads the Minutewomen with 26 points on 12 goals plus two assists. Louw has inked the box score in six different matches, caging two shots in each of those six contests.
The last Minutewoman to log six multi-goal performances in a season was Brooke Sabia in 2013, en route to a 20-goal campaign. Since 2002 when computerized statistics begin at UMass, no player has accomplished such a feat in their first season donning the Maroon and White.
Next Up
Massachusetts heads to Richmond, Virginia for a pair of Atlantic 10 matches from Fri., Oct. 5 through Sun., Oct. 7. The Minutewomen meet the Richmond Spiders to open the trip and close the weekend heading across the city to VCU.
