Rowing Finishes Weekend at Head of the Charles

BOSTON – University of Massachusetts rowing wrapped up the team's weekend at the 54th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday. The Minutewomen raced three boats and head coach Jim Dietz also competed in the Directors' Challenge Men's Quads.

Aiste Balciunaite opened up the day's action at 8:50 a.m. in the Women's Club Singles, turning in a seventh place performance with a time of 21:19.276 in the field of 22.

Elsewhere on the water, UMass' Women's Championship Fours boat was 17th (21:40.664), coxed by Emily Christensen and stroked by Kelley Glennon. In the Women's Championship Eights the Minutewomen tabbed 26th (20:00.406). Suzanna Yeung led that crew as coxswain with Olivia Kelley riding stroke seat.

In the Directors' Challenge Men's Quads, Dietz was part of a ninth-place crew and crossed the finish line in 17:44.818.
