Wright Named A-10 Performer Of The Week After Two Record Performances

Owen Wright earned the honor after setting new Rogers Pool records in both the 50 and 100 Free.

AMHERST, Mass. – Senior Owen Wright of the University of Massachusetts men's swimming and diving team earned his third Atlantic 10 weekly honor of the season as he was named the A-10 Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week after setting two new Rogers Pool records over the weekend in a 211-87 win over Fordham on Saturday.
 
Wright (Attleboro, Mass.) broke his first Rogers Pool record of the day with a top time of 20.42 to break a nearly 19-year old record in the event. Wright followed up his record performance with another pool record time, this coming in the 100 Free with a time of 44.92. The senior also helped the 200 Medley Relay team to a win as he was part of a team that posted a time of 1:32.47 in the race.
 
The Minutemen will be off for a week before they begin competition at the A-10 Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, Feb. 14 in Geneva, Ohio.
