Two Meet Records Highlight Day One Of Colgate Invitational

HAMILTON, N.Y. – University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving took first place finishes in the 500 Free and the 1-Meter Dive as they ended day one of the Justin Jennings Memorial Invitational at Colgate in second place with a team score of 197.

Kelly Malyszka set a meet record in first individual event of the night in the 500 Free with a swim of 5:04.60 while Olga Egkovoa and Paige Mitchell rounded out the top-10 for UMass.

Ansley Baker finished as the runner-up in the 50 Free as she clocked a time of 24.24 as teammate Mariam Labib placed fourth with a time of 24.55. Baker and Labib finished fourth as part of the 200 Free Relay along with Sydnee Aubin and Maddie Biron in the opening relay of meet.

Emma Roush led the way for the Minutewomen in the 1-Meter Dive, an event where UMass swept the top-three podium finishes as Roush's top score of 299.00 set a new meet record. Katie Polk was the runner-up with a score of 271.85 while Maja Boric rounded out the top-three with a dive of 263.95.

The Justin Jennings Memorial Invitational will wrap-up tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., beginning with the 400 IM.
