Special tip-off at 11 a.m. as over 2,000 school children expected to fill Mullins Center.

AMHERST, Mass. - With over 2,000 area school children expected in attendance, the UMass women's basketball team will host St. Bonaventure for a special 11 a.m. tip-off on Thursday morning for the annual Field Trip Day at the Mullins Center. The game will be streamed live on-line for free on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network and broadcast locally on 91.1 FM WMUA.

The Minutewomen are coming off a thrilling week that saw a buzzer-beating win on the road at Davidson last Thursday followed by a home win over Duquesne on national television last Sunday. The victory over the Dukes improved UMass (9-10, 3-3 A-10) to 7-1 at the Mullins Center this year - it's best starting home record since the 2007-08 season. The Minutewomen have won three of their last four games entering the two home contests this week with George Washington visiting on Saturday as part of a double-header with the men's basketball team.

Freshman guard Hailey Leidel earned her third Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor on Monday after averaging 21.5 points in the wins over Davidson and Duquesne. The rookie hit the game-winning three-pointer against the Wildcats for her second buzzer-beater of the season. The Brownstown, Mich., native leads UMass in scoring this season with 17.3 points per game while also averaging 6.3 rebounds. Maggie Mulligan is second in scoring with 14.5 points a night while also hauling down 11.8 rebounds per game. Ryan Holder (10.6 points) and Alyx Stiff (10.0 points) round out UMass' top scoring leaders. Stiff is coming off a career-best 19 points in the win over Duquesne.

In the Atlantic 10, UMass is currently tied with George Mason for seventh in the standings, while the Bonnies (6-12, 1-5 A-10) are 12th. Leidel continues to lead all A-10 rookies in scoring and is third overall. She leads the league in three-pointers made (56) which is tied for sixth-most in a single-season at UMass. The freshman also ranks fourth in the league in steals. Mulligan ranks sixth overall in scoring, is second in rebounds per game, and ranks third in blocked shots (1.8). Leah McDerment rounds out the league leaders for the Minutewomen ranking third in assists with 5.4 per game.

Nationally, Mulligan continues to rank second nationally in double-doubles with 15 - just one behind Washington's Chantel Osahor. Her 11.8 rebounds per game ranks third overall in the NCAA. Leidel also remains the countries No. 2 rookie scorer just behind UNC Greensboro's Nadine Soliman who is 0.4 points ahead. Her 56 three-pointers made is tied for 16th nationally.

St. Bonaventure enters the game with a five-game losing skid and an 0-8 road record. Mariah Ruff leads the Bonnies with a 13.0 point per game average followed by Gabby Richmond who is scoring 11.9 points a night. Richmond also leads the squad in rebounding with 7.0 boards per outing.
