AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's soccer head coach Fran O'Leary announced today the signing of midfielder/forward Ibrahim Na-Aata to a National Letter of Intent. Na-Aata joins Andrew Barrowman and Donnie Igo who signed NLIs earlier this month as incoming freshmen for the Minutemen next fall.
"We are delighted to welcome Ibrahim to the UMass program," said O'Leary. "He will add pace and athleticism to our attack and is an exciting addition to our squad."
Na-Aata was a standout during his career at B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River, scoring 19 goals and adding 19 assists across his junior and senior seasons. He was named a 2014 Big 3 All-Star, an Eastern Massachusetts All-Star and an All-Massachusetts selection.
His senior campaign in 2015 saw him be named B.M.C. Durfee High School MVP along with the same awards. This past December, he also added Herald News All-Scholastic honors to his credit.
The native of Accra, Ghana, played club soccer with the Nor'Easter Soccer club, scoring 43 goals while adding 37 assists.
Also a standout in the classroom, Na-Aata was listed on the Honor Roll, Principal's List and was Student of the Term in World Language.
