Marisa Werenski wins three events for Minutewomen.
AMHERST, Mass. - Meriza Werenski won three different individual events to highlight the UMass women's swimming and diving team's performance on Friday night in a 171-127 loss to Army at Rogers Pool. The Minutewomen will return to action next Saturday in a dual meet at Boston University (1:30 p.m.).
In Friday's action, Werenski won the 200 free, the 200 breast and the 200 individual medley for the Minutewomen.
She was followed by Ansley Baker who won the 100 breast, Maja Boric who won the one-meter dive and Emma Roush who won the three-meter dive as event winners.
Olga Egkorova and Chelsea Meiring also had strong performances for UMass. Egkorova placed second in the 1,000 free and third in the 200 fly, while Meiring took second in the 50 free and third in the 100 free.
Julia Jagannath, who was honored prior to the meet as a special Senior Day ceremony for the divers, placed second in the three-meter dive and third in the one-meter. Boric added a third-place finish on the three-meter board.
