#18 UMass Football Vs. Holy Cross: Postgame Notes

UMass is now 8-0 all-time in night games at McGuirk Stadium, winning twice in 2009, 2005 and once in 2008, 2004 and 2000.

The crowd of 16,352 is the 16th largest all-time at McGuirk Stadium and 10th of more than 15,000 since 2004.

UMass had its largest first-half margin since a 35-0 lead at Rhode Island (11/1/2008).

The Minutemen scored on five drives in a row to end the first half.

Dan Sheeran had his first-career touchdown in the first quarter. He also had his longest-career catch for 28 yards late in the first quarter.

Rob Blanchflower also scored his first-career touchdown on a 3-yard reception in the second quarter.

John Griffin scored his third touchdown of the season on a 1-yard rush in the first quarter.

Jonathan Hernandez rushed for his 10th-career touchdown.

Holy Cross' Perry Townsend blocked a punt, marking the first time since Kansas State blocked a UMass punt in the 2009 season opener on Sept. 5, 2009.

Blanchflower had his first-career start as UMass started in a two-tight end formation. The other tight end, Andrew Krevis had his second-career start.

On defense, redshirt freshman Theo Agnew drew his first-career start on the defensive line.

Linebacker D.J. Adeoba started for the second time in his career. The other was at Kansas State in the 2009 season opener.
