Minutewomen Fall To Northeastern, 174-123, Saturday

BOSTON, Mass. - The UMass women's swimming and diving team fell to Northeastern, 174-123, on Saturday, dropping their record to 3-2 overall in dual meets. The Huskies claimed first in 11 of the 16 total events, to help them claim their sixth-straight win in the overall series between the two schools.
The Minutewomen had four individual first-place finishes, as Jennifer Corriveau, Meghan Nowak, Tavis Potter and Hannah Swift all claimed victories in the meet. Corriveau took the first victory of the day for the Minutewomen, notching first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.08. Nowak had a great day with two top-two finishes, winning the 100 breaststroke (1:08.76) and finishing second in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.80). Potter had the final individual swim victory of the day, claiming a victory in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:13.30.
Hannah Swift continued to lead the Minutewomen divers, taking first-place in the one-meter dive with a total score of 251.40 and second in the three-meter with a score of 226.57. Michaela Butler also had another top-three finish, taking third in the one-meter with a score of 226.57.
The Minutewomen also won the 400 freestyle relay, as Corriveau, Molly Papish, Elizabeth Walsh and Amina Meho combined for a time of 3:38.99 for the victory.
UMass will next be in action when they make their training trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, as they will take part in the Loyola Invitational on Jan. 9.
