AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass swimming and diving teams split with Colgate on Sunday morning in a dual meet at the Lineberry Natatorium. The men's team took first place in every event of the meet and swept five events for a 190.5-90.5 win. The women's team received strong performances from Anne Fogerty who won both diving events although it was not enough in the Minutewomen's 168-126 loss. The teams will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they host Fordham for Senior Day at the Joseph Rogers pool in Boyden Gym.
The Minutemen got off to a strong start on Sunday by winning the 200 medley relay and the 1,650 free style. Andrew Willbrant, John Weaver, Nate Bromage, and Juan Moliere teamed up to win the 200 medley relay, while Max Butler won the 1,650 freestyle.
UMass then took 1-3 in the 200 freestyle as A.J. Vozella won the event followed by Brendan Kuntz and Willbrant.
In all, the Minutemen swept five events on the day. UMass also took 1-3 in the 100 breast, the 100 free, the 1-meter dive, and the 3-meter dive.
