UMass Rowing Ties For Second At Yankee Cup

Kingston, R.I., - The UMass women's rowing team tied for second at the Yankee Cup on Saturday in Kingston, R.I. Rhode Island won the event with 31 points. UMass and UConn tied for second with 18 and New Hampshire was fourth with five. UMass' quad, with rowers, Hannah Brewster, Sarah Marsan, Ellen Maskrey, and Tara Guinan, won their event by 24 seconds.

Varsity 8: URI 7:31.0; UMass 7:40.7; UConn 8:07.0. UMass boat: Ellen Maskrey, Gabrielle Papineau, Sarah Marsan, Hannah Brewster, Airlina Burrill, Amanda Mawn, Elizabeth Hayashida, Tara Guinan, and coxswain Dana Pulda.
2nd Varsity 8: URI 7:47.5; UMass 7:53.0; UConn 8:10.9. UMass boat: Andrea Morand, Haley Fitzgerald, Karen Plevock, Erin Kelly, Rachael Nealer, Anna Welch, Kristen Boyce, Julie Markus, and coxswain Jeanine LeDoux.
