Massachusetts Head Coach Sam Koch:
We're a little bit stunned right now and we have to thaw out, but we're excited. We're excited about moving on. My hat goes off to Boston College. They're an outstanding team and they gave us so much trouble in the beginning of the game. I'm very pleased with our guys for holding in there and being able to get it done in the second half.
In reality they're [Boston College] the ones that are under the most pressure. Being the ACC champions and playing at home. They're the ones that I think were feeling it in the second half and we tried to do everything we could to take advantage of that.
Massachusetts goalkeeper Zach Simmons:
In our halftime meeting, we said we can play with these guys. As coach said at the end of the second half, we were playing really well and you know we said we have 45 minutes left in our season possibly and we've got to give everything we have. Sure enough, the guys came out with a lot of heart a lot of passion and we played smart too. It wasn't only intensity but it was a lot of composure and sticking to our game plan
Boston College head coach Ed Kelly:
I just told the team at the end of the game that it wasn't our day. We had a great season and let's not ruin it by being so bummed out. We just didn't do enough to win. It was not like we were unlucky. It's not like the referees were bad or this happened or that happened. We just didn't do enough and we have to look at ourselves in the mirror and face the fact that we just didn't get enough chances.
Boston College goalkeeper Chris Brown:
Coming into the second half and being up 1-0, I thought we had everything to play for. It's just tough that they took the momentum coming out of half time. They just controlled the ball. They just seemed to have the better of the play in the second half. They got enough chances and a couple went in.
