AMHERST, Mass. - Nate Bromage, Greg Chartier, and R.J. Rappe each win two events to lead the men's team, while Christa Narus, Taryn Prout and Karen Upperco take two for the women. The men's team won 165-135, while the women won 172-124.

Upperco's performances on the one-meter and three-meter boards placed her among the program's all-time top-10 charts in just her second career meet. The native of Titusville, N.J., ranks sixth all-time on the three-meter board with her total of 245.55 points, while her mark of 245.92 points on the one-meter board is good for seventh all-time.

Also moving into the all-time top-10 list were Prout and freshman Christa Narus. Prout won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:45.75 which ranks ninth all-time at UMass. Narus, a native of Stony Brook, N.Y., won the 100-yard fly in 58.80 seconds - good for seventh all-time. Prout also won the 500-yard free, while Narus won the 200-yard free.

Other event winners for UMass included junior Nicole LeBarge in the 50-yard free and sophomore Allison Volpe in the 100-yard free.

The Minutewomen also won the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Prout, senior Melissa Stango, Narus, and LeBarge.

On the men's side, freshman Nate Bromage won the 200-yard free (1:46.51) and the 100-yard butterfly (52.04 seconds), while junior Greg Chartier won the 500-yard free (4:56.40) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.30).

Sophomore A.J. Vozella, the 2005 100-yard freestyle champion, won the 100 free (46.62 seconds) and tied for first in the 50-yard free (22.12 seconds) with Stony Brook's Christopher Pai.

The Minutemen were strong on the boards as R.J. Rappe won the one-meter dive (270.60 points) and the three-meter boards (308.03 points). Junior Kirk Scimone took second in each event. Scimone posted the sixth-best one-meter dive total (252.60 points) for the program's history.

Freshman Brad Sloan captured the 1,000-yard free in nine minutes, 58.56 seconds to round out UMass' top performers.

The 400-yard free relay team of Chris Chambers, Greg Braun, Chartier, and Vozella took first in 3:11.47 to close out the meet.
