Peluso Named To Rhode Island Aquatic Hall Of Fame

Jay Peluso, 1993, a former Minuteman standout in Swimming and Water Polo has been selected to the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame. A Cumberland, RI native, Peluso graduated from UMass with a degree in Sport Management and then received his law degree from the University of Richmond.
During his swimming career at UMass, Peluso was a multiple school record holder. He was a seven time New England Champion in individual events including the 200 and 400 IM, the 100 Butterfly, and the 200 Breaststroke. He also swam on a New England Championship relay team. During the years of 1989-1993 Peluso helped the Minutemen win four consecutive New England titles. Peluso is still ranked in the UMass All-Time Top Five Times in the 100 Butterfly, and the 200 and 400 Individual Medleys.
As part of the water polo squad, Peluso was a three-year starter and helped the team rise to national prominence, winning their first New England Championship in 1992, Peluso's senior year.
Peluso now lives in Glenn Allen, Va. with his wife Dana, where he is in private law practice.
