Four Minutemen Named All-Atlantic 10

AMHERST, Mass. - Four University of Massachusetts men's soccer players were named All-Atlantic 10, highlighted by Ptah Myers (Columbus, Ohio). Two other Minutemen were named to the second team and one more earned All-Rookie Team honors.
Myers, a senior forward, was named to the first team for the first time, and second time overall after being a second-team selection last year. He scored 21 points (9 g, 3 a) to lead the Minutemen. He finished his career with 70 points (27 g, 16 a) to rank seventh on the all-time scoring list, tied for ninth on the career goals scored list and tied for ninth on the career assists list. He scored at least 20 points in the last three years.
Senior midfielder Dan Colwell (Spencer, Mass.) was named to the All-Atlantic 10 second team after ranking third on the team with 15 points (5 g, 5 a), and his five assists led the squad. He finished his career with 34 points (9 g, 16 a). His 16 career assists ranks tied for ninth with Myers on the career list.
Senior midfield Devlin Barnes (Bethesda, Md.) was part of a solid UMass defense that shut out seven opponents, the seventh most in school history. He recorded five shots for the Minutemen, and finished his career with five points (2 g, 1 a).
Freshman midfielder Richard Higa (Honolulu, Hawaii) tallied four points (2 g, 0 a) to rank second among Minutemen rookies. He was one of 11 rookies named to the All-Rookie Team.
UMass finished the season with an 11-7-1 overall record and a 5-5-1 mark in the Atlantic 10. The squad will return all but five players from this year's squad.
