AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Marcel Shipp ran for four touchdowns, three in the putaway first half, to lead Massachusetts to a record-setting 77-0 win over Northeastern in an Atlantic 10 Conference mismatch Saturday.

The 11 touchdowns and 77 points scored by UMass represented Atlantic-10 Conference records.

The defending NCAA Division I-AA champion Minutemen (2-3, 2-1) built up a 49-0 halftime advantage in snapping a three-game losing streak. Northeastern, which has lost four straight, fell to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the Atlantic 10.

Shipp wound up with 24 carries for 110 yards before leaving the game after scoring his fourth touchdown in the first drive of the second half.

In the tell-tale first half, UMass piled up 323 yards of total offense compared to 68 yards for the Huskies. The Minutemen also showed a 15-2 edge in first downs.

Also in the dominating first half, Todd Bankhead threw two touchdown passes to Adrian Zullo and the quarterback scored another TD rushing. Backup tailback Kevin Quinlan scored on a 19-yard run in the 35-point second quarter. Quinlan scored his second touchdown in the third quarter, with a 1-yard run to cap a 70-yard drive. He ended with 127 yards rushing.

Two Northeastern quarterbacks were intercepted five times and the Huskies also lost the ball twice on fumbles.
