Jake Ozer joined the University of Massachusetts as a Mental Health Counselor and Certified Mental Performance Consultant® in the Fall of 2025. Ozer holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from UMass Amherst as well as a master’s degree in Counseling and Sport Psychology from Boston University.
Ozer brings years of experience working with athletes and young adults in a therapeutic setting. Prior to returning to Amherst, he served as a Mental Performance Consultant for the Boston University athletics and performance arts departments and provided clinical outpatient therapy in community mental health and private practice spaces.
With an emphasis in mindfulness and awareness practices, Ozer utilizes a person-centered approach to support student-athletes in developing a strong identity and working through any mental health or performance concerns that may arise.
