Before UMass: Competed at Norton High School where she was a two year captain… Holds the school record in the 400m, 200m indoor, 300m, SMR, DMR, and 4x100m… Named league MVP twice… Came in 11th in the 400m at the Nationals Championship her junior year… Placed sixth in the 400m at the Nationals Rising Stars her senior year… two time Division 5 champion in the 300m… TVL champion five times… As the Secretary of the Art Honors Society, Murphy earned the Presidential Art Award, JFK Art Award, Georgia Okeef Art Award, and was an Art Scholastic Honorable mention.
