Coach Verdi on White: ""I call Makennah the X-factor. There's a lot of things that make her a really special basketball player. She is a power forward who can score it around the basket. She can face up and shoot from 15. She has a lot of versatility. The one thing that I love about her is that she just plays so hard all the time. Her passion and determination will be infectious. She'll be a great asset to our team and give us more depth in the post position. We expect great things from her."

White on UMass: "The first time I stepped on campus, I felt right at home. The family atmosphere and small classes appeal to me because it reminds me of my own community. I also love the sense of appreciation and community between the student-athletes and the surrounding area."
