UMass Women’s Lacrosse’s Morris Garners First MAC Offensive Player Of The Week Nod

AMHERST, Mass. – UMass redshirt senior attack Kassidy Morris has been tabbed the MAC Women's Lacrosse Week 1 Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Morris played a pivotal role in the Maroon & White's season-opening 17-8 victory over Holy Cross, while also setting a career milestone in the contest.
Morris led UMass in scoring in the season opener with five goals and four assists for nine points against the Crusaders. The Washago, Ontario native also took over second all-time in program history in career goals during the contest, passing Sam Rush's (2011-2014) total of 176. Morris, now with 178 career tallies to her credit, trails only three-time All-American Katie Ferris' (2011-14) 211 markers.
UMass next travels to No. 23 Penn State for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, February 11 at 12 p.m.
