Massachusetts Women’s Track and Field Has Big Showing At Terrier Invite

BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team competed at the Terrier Invite in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, highlighted by Ashley Johnson and Shakira Cadet taking home gold in their respective events.

Massachusetts returns to action to compete in ECAC Championships at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Mass. on Feb 7-8.
Highlights from Competition:
- Ashley Johnson claimed gold in the women's 400m run with a finish of 55.23. Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir narrowly missed a podium finish as well, taking fourth with a time of 57.33.
- Skylar Fox rounded out the top 10 in the women's 800m run crossing the finish line in 2:22.68.
- Marielsa McBride rounded out the top 10 in the women's high jump cleairng 5'1.75".
- Shakira Cadet took fourth in the women's long jump with a leap of 18'4.25". Bridget Lee placed seventh with a jump of 18'2.25".
- Shakira Cadet claimed gold in the women's triple jump with a total distance of 40'5".
