Massachusetts Women's Track and Field Competes at Scarlet And White Meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team competed at the Scarlet and White meet on Saturday in Boston. 

Highlights from Competition: 
  • The duo of Eve Segal (4th) and Mattie Bishop (5th) placed back-to-back in the women's shot put with tosses of 44'1.25'' and 43'2.5'', respectively.
  • Bridget Lee had the fifth-longest jump in the women's long jump with a leap of 17'7.5''.
  • Ainsley Hileman claimed gold in the women's pole vault, clearing 11'9.75''. Maia Perillo tied for second, also clearing 11'9.75''.
  • Marielsa McBride took fourth in the women's high jump, clearing a height of 5'5''. 
  • Jaliyah Burns rounded out the top-eight of the women's weight throw with a toss of 53'2.25''
  • Ruth Michel placed sixth in the women's triple jump with a distance of 38'4.25''.
  • Agnes Thundal rounded out the top-10 in the women's mile, crossing the finish line in 4:52.45.
  • Leila Metres rounded out the top-10 in the women's 500m run, crossing the finish line in 1:17.96. 
  • Jennifer Williams (4th) and Tesaira Williams (5th) placed consecutively in the women's 60m hurdles finals, crossing the finish line in times of 8.70 and 8.82, respectively.
  • Anna McElhinney (7th) and Anna Todd (8th) placed back-to-back in the women's 3k with times of 9:51.05 and 9:51.22, respectively. 
  • The combination of Ashley Johnson, Leila Metres, Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir and Marielsa McBride ran a 3:53.23 in the women's 4x400m relay, good enough for sixth place.
