Massachusetts Women’s Soccer Selected Fourth In MAC Preseason Poll

UMass begins the season on Thursday, Aug. 14, against St. John’s.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's soccer was voted to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon. The Minutewomen went 13-5-3 overall last season, while reaching the Atlantic 10 Finals.

Massachusetts returns 16 players from last season's team, as graduate students Sarah DeFreitas and Macy Graves rejoins the Minutewomen for the 2025 season.

Additionally, UMass welcomes 12 newcomers for the 2025 campaign. The group features redshirt senior Emma Burke, sophomore Peyton Costello, and freshmen Ella Casagrande-Stevens, Skye Cuscuna, Amelia Deren, Pepper Escher, Chloe Kundra, Kayla Nohasiarisoa, Piersen Rawlin, Kaila Steen, Lexi Terry and Aline Traber.

UMass opens the 2025 regular season on Thursday, August 14, against St. John's at Rudd Field at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.  MAC play begins Sunday, September 14 at home against Ball State at 1 p.m. at Rudd Field.
