Minutemen Set For Orange Bowl Basketball Classic Matchup With Florida State

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. -- The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team will travel to the Sunshine State to take part in the AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic, the Orange Bowl announced Thursday. The Minutemen will face Florida State on Saturday, December 13th, at Amerant Bank Arena in the 31st annual edition of the event. The two programs will be joined by the University of Florida and George Washington University who will also matchup as part of the festivities.

The Minutemen make their third appearance in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic and first since the 2013-14 campaign. Massachusetts has faced Florida State in both its matchups as part of the event, holding a 1-1 overall record. The matchup will mark the 10th meeting between the two programs. UMass and Florida State faced each other last season as part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun.

The AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic is the only Division I basketball event in Broward County, offering fans and families an unforgettable experience during the holiday season.
