Minutemen Announce Nonconference Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. – UMass men's basketball announced its full nonconference schedule on Monday, highlighted by a pair of Basketball Hall of Fame related events along with the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.

The season begins at defending Sun Belt Championship Troy on Monday, Nov. 2, who last season went 22-12 and 12-6 in conference play, winning the regular season and conference tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

UMass then heads to Boston and TD Garden on Friday, Nov. 6 to face cross-state rival Boston College at the home of the Celtics. It's part of the TNT Sports Hall of Fame Series Boston, announced on Friday. The Minutemen defeated the Eagles last season, 76-74 in Springfield, Mass. For more information, please click here.

The home opener is Wednesday, Nov. 11 against UMass Lowell before two more home contests against the America East: against Bryant (Tuesday, Nov. 17) and Maine (Saturday, Nov. 21).

The Minutemen will spend Thanksgiving Eve in Boston, heading to Northeastern on Wednesday, Nov. 25 to face the Huskies.

UMass will have a MAC game on Wednesday, Dec. 2, leading into a Sunday, Dec. 6 matchup against Wake Forest out of the ACC at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. Two more conference games precede pre-holiday home games against Stonehill (Saturday, Dec. 19) and UMass Boston (Monday, Dec. 21).

The Minutemen will also have a home game on Saturday, Feb. 6 as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge. That opponent will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Â
