20 Massachusetts Hockey Student-Athletes Named To 2024-25 Hockey East Men's All-Academic Team

AMHERST, Mass. – Twenty members of the Massachusetts hockey program have been named to the Hockey East 2024-25 Men's All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Minutemen were among a record 221 student-athletes across Hockey East that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each academic period during which they were actively competing.
Additionally, four individuals from UMass earned the prestigious honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete, compiling the highest GPA at their position for the season. Those players, graduate student defenseman Linden Alger, freshman defenseman Finn Loftus, freshman forward James Duerr and freshman forward Cam Dunn, have been selected to the 2024-25 Hockey East Academic All-Star Team, as well.
Alger was one of two individuals in the league recognized for a fifth straight year for his excellence in the classroom. Junior forward Michael Cameron, senior forward Ryan Lautenbach, junior defenseman Owen Murray and junior defenseman Kennedy O'Connor all were named to the All-Academic Team for the third time in their careers.
UMass had three individuals earn All-Academic distinction for the second time in their careers: sophomore forward Bo Cosman, sophomore goaltender Michael Hrabal and sophomore goaltender Jackson Irving. Freshman defenseman, Francesco Dell'Elce, freshman forward James Duerr, freshman forward Cam Dunn, freshman forward Daniel Jencko, freshman defenseman Larry Keenan, freshman defenseman Charlie Lieberman, freshman defenseman Finn Loftus, sophomore forward Jack Musa, graduate student forward Joey Musa, freshman goaltender James Norton, junior defenseman Lucas Olvestad and sophomore forward Nick VanTassell were all first-time honorees.
