Recap in a Minute
Massachusetts competed against Quinnipiac on the road on Tuesday afternoon. The contest resulted in a 7-7 tie between the Minutemen and Bobcats, as the game was called due to darkness heading into the 10th inning.

Carter Hanson totaled a team-leading two hits, including his second home run of the year, while adding a run and RBI. Four Minutemen all had one hit apiece, with Jack Beverly recording his first homer of the season and Anthony Tirado registering his first collegiate double. Tirado and Beverly had two RBI each, followed by Zack Zaetta and Braden Sullivan with one, while six players tallied a run on the day along with Hanson.

The Midshipmen hold the advantage in the all-time series, 7-4, over the Minutemen. The two teams first met on March 14, 2009, with Navy edging UMass 6-5 in 10 innings.

Massachusetts and Navy last me for a three-game series in 2023, with the Minutemen claiming the series, 2-1. UMass had a doubleheader sweep with a 4-2 win and a 14-3 victory, while Navy took the series finale 6-4.

Additionally, UMass registered at least one home run in its last four games, while recording two in back-to-back games (3/2-3/4).

Meet the Minutemen
A solid mix of returners and newcomers compose the 2025 edition of the Minutemen as the squad begins its 142nd season. Twenty-two members of the team are back from the 2024 campaign, while 13 players join for their first season in Amherst, including 10 freshen and three transfers.

Keeping it in the Family
The 2025 season marks the 59th straight campaign that Massachusetts baseball will have an alumnus of the Flagship campus as head coach. Eighth-year skipper Matt Reynolds is a double graduate (2005, '10G), and was preceded by fellow alumni Mike Stone '82 (1988-2017) and Dick Bergquist '57 (1967-87).

This is the second longest streak across Division I baseball. Only BYU (62 consecutive seasons) has been led by an alum of its campus for a longer period.
