Jacob Brown Claims Gold as Minutemen Place Fifth in A10 Indoor Championships

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team finished fifth in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships with 85 points. The Minutemen totaled nine medalists and 28 student-athletes scoring points over the weekend in Virginia Beach, Va.Â

- Matthew Acquah continued his spectacular first season, starting the day off by securing a bronze medal in the men's triple jump with a distance of 47'9.75".Â
- The trio of Will Kenney (6th), Collin Catherwood (7th) and Michael Norberg (8th) tallied points for the Minutemen, finishing the men's mile in 4:12.43, 4:12.46 and 4:13.67, respectively.Â
- Elijah Wolinski secured a top-five finish in the men's 60m hurdles finals, finishing fifth with a time of 8.44. Nick Cramer also scored, placing seventh running in 8.54.
- Godot Gaskins claimed silver in the men's 400m dash, while also setting a program record, finishing in 47.65. Gaskins also placed fifth in the men's 200m dash finals with a time of 21.81 – fourth-fastest in program history.Â
- Winston Lewis also scored points in the 200m dash, placing seventh running in 21.93. His time was good enough for fifth-fastest in program history.Â
- Michael Norberg, Colin Kirn, Tyler Medeiros and Nicholas Calitri combined to run 7:43.77 in the men's 4x800m relay, placing seventh overall.Â
- Michael Sanchez, Chris Scalia, Mark Sten and Godot Gaskins placed sixth in the men's 4x400m relay, running in 3:16.02. The group also claimed the eighth-fastest time in program history.
- Matthew Acquah earned bronze in the men's triple jump with a total distance of 47'9.75".
- Aidan Lee claimed a top-eight finish in the men's high jump, tying for seventh with a clear of 6'5".Â
- Aiden Donovan's toss of 52'4" was good enough to take home a bronze medal, as well as the eighth-best throw in program history.Â
