Chloe Taylor's Record-Setting Performance Claims Gold at Day One of A-10 Indoor Championships

Taylor sets new program and meet indoor Pole Vault record, becomes first Minutewomen to clear 13+ feet indoors.

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team had a record-breaking first day of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships on Friday, sitting in first place with 38 points as two student-athletes medaled and 11 scored points in Virginia Beach, Va.

Highlights from Competition:
  • Chloe Taylor claimed gold in the women's pole vault, clearing 13'2.25". Not only did Taylor break the indoor program record for the second-straight week, but also claimed the highest clear in Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships history – a record that had stood since 2018.
  • Megan Frazee (4th) and Maia Perillo (5th) rounded out the top five of the women's pole vault, clearing heights of 12'4.5" and 11'10.5", respectively. 
  • Ainsley Wiesner earned bronze in the women's weight throw with a toss of 58'4.5". 
  • Sydney Adams' time of 17:03.42 in the women's 5K was good enough for the fourth-best time. 
  • Alex Constantino, Alexandria Scott, Simone Harrison and Rylee Shunney combined to run a 11:49.13 in the women's DMR to secure fifth place. The mark was also good enough for third-fastest in program history.
  • Tesaira Williams claimed the sixth-best performance in the women's pentathlon, finishing with 3,368 points, also good enough for the ninth-best score in program history.
  • Shakira Cadet scored in the women's long jump, finishing eighth with a leap of 18'4.5". 
  • Sadai Headley-Mawasi (3rd) and Caroline Mullady (6th) earned spots in the women's 500m finals, finishing in 1:13.50 and 1:16.60 during the preliminaries, respectively. Headley-Mawasi also qualified for the 200m dash finals, placing sixth in the preliminary race with a time of 24.72.
  • Faith Richardsons time of 7.67 in the women's 60m dash was good enough for seventh overall and a spot in the finals. 
  • Agnes Thundal finished fourth in the women's 1K preliminaries with a time of 2:56.49.
