Minutemen Host Flagship Indoor Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team returned to action on Sunday, opening the new year hosting the UMass Flagship Indoor Invitational at the Track at New Balance.
 
Highlights from Competition:
  • Matthew Acquah claimed victory in the men's triple jump, earning a top 10 all-time program record of 46'10".
  • Godot Gaskins placed second in the men's 500m run with a time of 1:04.22. Corey Sanders (8th) and Colin Kirn (9th) followed shortly after, clocking in at 1:06.07 and 1:06.28 respectively.
  • Michael Norberg notched a top 10 all-time program finish in the mile run, placing third with a time of 4:06.68. Erik Unger rounded out the top 10, placing 10th at 4:17.80.
  • Chamberlain Guthrie earned a podium spot for the Minutemen in the men's long jump, clearing 21'11.75".
  • Winston Lewis finished fourth overall in the men's 200m dash, marking his name in the UMass record books with a top 10 all-time program record of 21.76.
  • Lewis also earned the fourth-best time in the men's 60m dash prelims (7.10), placing sixth overall in the finals with a time of 7.12.
  • Aiden Donovan placed fifth in the men's shot put with a distance of 47'10".
  • Aaron Fishler earned fifth place in the men's weight throw at 51'4.25".
  • Will Kenney ran the sixth-best time in the men's 1000m with a time of 2:28.38. Collin Catherwood (9th) and Michael Norberg (15th) each earned top 15 finishes as well, finishing at 2:29.15 and 2:31.31 respectively.
