Carew Leads Men’s Cross Country To Victory At Ted Owen Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Graduate student Bobby Carew led the field to help University of Massachusetts men's cross country to victory in a field of 11 schools at the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday at Stanley Quarter Park. The Minutemen posted a score of 24 with its entire top-five finishing in the top-nine overall.
THE UMASS TOP-FIVE
The Minutemen will head to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in two weeks for the Paul Short Run at Lehigh on October 5. Race time is set for 11 a.m.
THE UMASS TOP-FIVE
- Carew won the 8K with a time of 24:49, taking first out of 115 runners.
- Graduate student John Lucey followed in second overall in 24:58.
- Sophomore Collin Catherwood placed third on the team and seventh overall (25:21).
- Senior Will Kenney followed in eighth with a time of 25:31.
- Graduate student Matthew George completed the scoring in ninth (25:44).
