Carew Leads Men’s Cross Country To Victory At Ted Owen Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Graduate student Bobby Carew led the field to help University of Massachusetts men's cross country to victory in a field of 11 schools at the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday at Stanley Quarter Park. The Minutemen posted a score of 24 with its entire top-five finishing in the top-nine overall.

THE UMASS TOP-FIVE
  • Carew won the 8K with a time of 24:49, taking first out of 115 runners.
  • Graduate student John Lucey followed in second overall in 24:58.
  • Sophomore Collin Catherwood placed third on the team and seventh overall (25:21).
  • Senior Will Kenney followed in eighth with a time of 25:31.
  • Graduate student Matthew George completed the scoring in ninth (25:44).
UP NEXT
The Minutemen will head to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in two weeks for the Paul Short Run at Lehigh on October 5. Race time is set for 11 a.m.
