Catherwood Takes Home Individual New England Cross Country Title, Minutemen Take Second

HOPKINTON, N.H. – Junior Collin Catherwood picked up his third individual win of the season to help University of Massachusetts men's cross country team to a second place finish in a 28-school meet at the New England Championships on Friday. The Minutemen posted a score of 107, with three individuals finishing inside the top-10.
THE UMASS MEN'S TOP-FIVE
- Catherwood won the 8K as the individual champion with a time of 23:57.82.
- Senior Liam Ouellette finished in eighth overall in the field of 257 runners in 24:28.95
- Sophomore Cyrus Hansen followed in third on the team and ninth overall (24:31.33).
- Senior Riley Cole claimed 26th with a time of 25:07.44.
- Freshman Liam Davidson rounded out the UMass scoring in 69th overall (25:46.90 63).

The Minutemen will return to action at the Princeton Fall Classic in Princeton, N.J., on October 17. Races are set to begin at 11:15 a.m.
