Meet Primer
After being idle since the season opener on August 31, the Minutemen will return to action this Saturday in New Britain, Connecticut for the 8K Ted Owens Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park. This will mark the first of two trips to New Britain that UMass will make this season as the squad will return to Stanley Quarter Park for the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 25. The Minutemen are coming off a season opener which saw the squad take six of the top-10 spots to win the Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational on Aug. 31. Will Kenney led the field for a second straight year, completing the 6K course in 18:17.73 and was named Atlantic 10 Men's Runner of hte Week. Collin Catherwood was second in 18:18.37 out of the 36-competitor field. Bobby Carew placed third in 18:30.97, newcomer John Lucey took fourth in his UMass debut (18:31.67) and Liam Ouellette completed the Minutemen's top-five in seventh overall at 18:41.05.
