Gaskins Qualifies For NCAA East Regional First Round

AMHERST, Mass.- University of Massachusetts track and field athlete Godot Gaskins qualified for the NCAA East Regionals in the 400m as announced on Thursday. Gaskins becomes the 12th Minuteman and first since 2022 to qualify for the meet when teammate Michael Norberg did so for the 3000m steeplechase.
At the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship this season, Gaskins earned himself three medals and was named the meet's Most Outstanding Track Performer. The Marblehead, Massachusetts native helped the 4x100m relay team win bronze and set a school record with a time of 40.75. As an individual, Gaskins took silver in both the 200m and 400m.
The following week, Gaskins competed at High Point in the Dani Palooza Last Chance meet where he broke his own school record, clocking in at 46.64. The time was good for first place and qualified him for the NCAA East Regionals.
Gaskins will be the lone Minuteman heading to Lexington, Kentucky for the regional meet and will compete in the 400m preliminaries at 6:25Â p.m. on Wednesday, May 22nd.
