Massachusetts Men's Track & Field Celebrated 13 Seniors At UMass Commonwealth Invitational

AMHERST, Mass.- The Massachusetts men's track and field team closed out the UMass Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday. The Minutemen also celebrated Senior Day as the honored 13 members of the 2024 class. The meet was highlighted by the 4x100m relay team consisting of Ethan Clark, Michael Rodia, Michael Harden, and Godot Gaskins who won the event with the third fastest program time of 41.24.
Highlights from competition:
- Ethan Clark came in second in the 200m with a time of 22:17. Behind Clark was classmate Michael Rodia in seventh.
- Winston Lewis finished fifth in the 400m with a time of 51.74.
- The Minutemen had three runners in the top eight in the 800m. Colin Kirn and Nicholas Calitri took first and second with times of 1:57.71 and 1:58.09 respectively. Owen Mullahy also finished sixth for the Minutemen.
- UMass swept the podium in the 1500m as Matthew George, Will Kenney and Collin Catherwood were the top finishers.
- Alec Pascoe took third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.27.
- Pascoe finished second in the 400m hurdles as well while Chris Scalia came in fourth.
- Joachim Ennoo had a pair of top-two finishes, winning the triple jump with a mark of 46' 9" and coming in second in the long jump with a leap of 22' 8".
- Brennan Ibbitson was the top Minuteman in the both the shot put and the discus, finishing in sixth in both events.
- Aaron Fishler threw the hammer 157' 8" to come in seventh.
- Anthony Pizzano recorded a javelin throw of 181' 2" for second place.
Next weekend the Minutemen will split up between the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday, April 19th and the Holy Cross Invite on Saturday, April 20th.
