Wolinski Earns First Place Finish At UMass Multi-Meet

AMHERST, Mass.- Freshman Elijah Wolinski won the UMass Multi-Meet on Thursday afternoon. Wolinski finished with a total score of 5817 in the seven athlete field. Classmate Alex Perenick finished third with a score of 5516.
Highlights from competition:
- Wolinski started the day with a first place finish in the 110m hurdles, clocking in with a time of 16.26 second. Perenick came in fourth with a time of 17.01.
- In the discus, Wolinski and Perenick finished sixth and seventh respectively.
- Wolinski had his second first place finish of the day, clearing 13' in the pole vault. Perenick's mark of 11' 8" earned him third.
- In the Javelin, Wolinski took second with a throw of 138' 8" while Perenick came in sixth.
- Perenick took the last event of the day, winning the 1500m with a time of 4:31.82. Wolinski finished right behind Perenick in second with a time of 4:57.98.
The duo will have a quick turnaround as they will compete at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday, April, 13th.
