Four Individuals From Hockey, Men’s Diving And Women’s Track & Field Share UMass Student-Athlete Of The Week Honors

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey's Michael Hrabal and Scott Morrow, men's swimming & diving's Andrew Bell and women's track and field's Megan Frazee have been selected as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week. The four individuals will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday, February 14, in the Berkshire Room of the Berkshire Dining Commons from noon to 1 p.m.
The featured speakers this week are baseball head coach Matt Reynolds and softball head coach Danielle Henderson.
Hrabal stopped 72 of the 73 shots he faced in a 2-0 weekend against UConn for a .986 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average over 119:45 minutes. The Prague, Czechia native turned aside all 36 shots he faced for his second career shutout in a 2-0 road win over the Huskies, setting a new career high in saves. He then matched his new career high in saves the following night at the Mullins Center to secure a 3-1 victory.
Morrow helped lead a defense that allowed just one goal in the weekend sweep. He assisted the game-winning goals in both contests and had an additional assist in Saturday night's win. The Darien, Connecticut native passed long-time NHLer Justin Braun for second all-time in career scoring by a defensemen (88 points) at UMass on the weekend, now with 90 points in 98 collegiate games.
Bell and the Massachusetts divers wrapped up the regular season at the Northeastern Diving Invitational last Saturday. The South Windsor, Connecticut native grabbed the gold in the one-meter dive with a six-dive total of 365.25, before claiming first with a personal-best score of 461.40 in the three-meter dive. His three-dive meter total broke his own previous school record of 403.73 from earlier this season.
Frazee took first in the pole vault at the BU Valentine Invitational last Friday, winning a jump off with a mark of 12' 8.25". The Westford, Massachusetts native's jump is good for second all-time at UMass in the indoor pole vault.
